This progressive design-build project expands the Big Creek Water Reclamation Facility from 24 MGD to 32 MGD and is Fulton County's largest single capital improvement project to date. The state-of-the-art wastewater treatment expansion includes a new liquids process with a Headworks, inclusive of 6mm Coarse Screening and Grit Removal, Primary Clarification, Fine Screening at 2mm, Biological Nutrient Removal with Large Bubble Mixing and Fine Bubble Diffusion, a Membrane Bioreactor, and UV disinfection. The MBR technology is one of the most advanced treatment technologies available. The system combines biological treatment/nutrient removal with ultrafiltration membranes that filter out particles greater than 0.04 碌m (about one millionth of an inch) in diameter.
