The project involves the construction of a 165,000-square-foot facility to support several academic constituencies including the Centre for Medicinal Chemistry, which will be headquartered in the building; researchers from the Department of Biology and the Department of Chemical and Physical Sciences, who will make use of the new collaborative wet research labs and core facilities; and the university鈥檚 acclaimed Forensic Science Program. This new facility will also be the home of the Novo Nordisk Network for Healthy Populations, a tri-campus partnership that will focus on new ways to support healthier urban populations. Also included in the program are a high-performance computation data centre and spaces for Facilities Management and Planning, both of which will support activity within the building and around campus. The New Science Building project is on track for May 2023 completion.
