Miraculous Medals placed at 932 W. Randolph renovation

CHICAGO, IL - Miraculous Medals have been placed in the first concrete pour for Walsh Construction’s mixed-use renovation project at 932 W. Randolph Street in Chicago’s West Loop.

Walsh Construction, along with OKW Architects, are renovating the building at the direction of L3 Capital. Renovations will add three stories and will convert the structure from a commercial property to mixed-use space. As concrete placement begins, interior demolition and cladding removal are nearly complete.

The 50,000-square-foot building will be converted into office and retail space. The building will feature a glass and metal storefront, bays diving the façade, brick cladding along the first two floors, and a tower-like elevator and staircase. Complete renovation is expected in the third quarter of 2021.

The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ's tradition of placing Miraculous Medals in a project’s first concrete pour dates back across six decades. The Miraculous Medal is an oval-shaped depiction of Mary according to Saint Catherine Laboure’s vision. The gesture of placing Miraculous Medals symbolizes an inspiration for the workers to successfully complete the job safely.
