The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ to Build Concourse D Holdroom Building at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport

SEATTLE – The Port of Seattle has selected The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ to construct a new $24 million Concourse D Holdroom building at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. The new temporary facility will be approximately 32,400 square feet and include up to seven gates for transport to the existing hardstand. The design-build project is scheduled to be substantially complete in the summer of 2018.

Designed by global architectural firm HOK, the new airside building contiguous to the existing Concourse D will be built at the North Ground Transportation (NGT) lot, which is currently used for ground operations and transportation to cruise ships.

The two-story facility will include holding areas, circulation areas, minor concessions, restrooms and vertical circulation with sloped walkways and stairs. The architectural style and finishes of the building addition will be aesthetically complementary to the existing Gina Marie Lindsay Arrivals Hall and Concourse A.

The new Concourse D Holdroom Building will incorporate technology to facilitate efficient movement for passengers throughout the facility. The project will include development and implementation of both static and dynamic signage. Wayfinding will include technologically advanced systems, as well as traditional signage applications, providing information that clearly guides the public through the new and integrated facilities.

The building will be designed and constructed utilizing sustainable practices and materials in order to achieve LEED Silver certification.

The design-build team includes The ¶¶Òõ¶ÌÊÓƵ as the design-builder and HOK as the lead architect, along with Lund Opsahl, LLC, Osborn Consulting, Inc., Hart Crowser, Casne Engineering and Notkin Mechanical Engineers.

HOK is a global design, architecture, engineering and planning firm.
