Walsh/Granite JV Supports Local Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
Pittsburgh, PA 鈥� The construction joint venture team for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation鈥檚 Rapid Bridge Replacement Project 鈥� Walsh/Granite JV - is giving back to the North Versailles Marine Toys for Tots Foundation this holiday season.
Walsh/Granite JV has donated $558 worth of toys 鈥� one dollar for every bridge being replaced under the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project. Members of the project team are encouraged to match that donation amount with personal contributions. It鈥檚 no surprise that construction-related toys and games have been some of the most popular donations.
Additionally, a group of 25 Walsh/Granite JV staff spent a day unloading thousands of toys from buses and sorting them at a warehouse in Pittsburgh. With all of the toys sorted by gender and age groups, individual families will be able to pick up toys during the Open House Distribution Day, which will be held on December 9 and 10, 2016. This initiative is especially meaningful to several project team members who are Marine Corps veterans.
With project offices in Pittsburgh, State College, Harrisburg and Allentown and 558 bridge projects in 66 counties, Walsh/Granite JV is dedicated to aid charitable organizations in the various communities in which they work.
About the Rapid Bridge Replacement Project:
The Rapid Bridge Replacement Project is an $899 million public-private partnership (P3) awarded by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) to the consortium of Plenary Walsh Keystone Partners (PWKP). Walsh/Granite JV is the design-build contractor included in the consortium of PWKP. The project is an initiative to replace 558 aging bridges throughout Pennsylvania. PWKP will finance, design, replace, and maintain the bridges for 25 years.
